On July 23, 2016 I lost one of my best friends, Michael Sadler. On that tragic day, the world lost one of the most brilliant-minded, witty, and genuinely kind people. Before passing away, Mike was getting ready to begin his new life journey at Stanford Law and I have no doubt he was the kind of person who was capable of changing the world. Mike is survived by his amazing mother Karen and sister Katie who are carrying on the legacy he left behind through their endless work at the Michael Sadler foundation. Their foundation efforts support programs and awards that emphasize the core values Mike reflected: academic excellence, athletic achievement, character and strength and leadership. Please consider donating to help their efforts in honor of a really special person we lost too soon. Above is a feature in which I contributed to Big Ten Network, of what his friendship meant to me, in hopes of displaying the kind of person he was outside of sports. As a friend and as someone who looked up to the qualities of Mike in such a big way, I feel it is part of my purpose to help carry a legacy that touched so many lives in a positive way. A truly remarkable human. Thank you for your kindness and consideration.
